Psalm 119 is an acrostic poem, meaning that every line in each stanza starts with the same letter of the Hebrew alphabet. This is a pneumonic device; the longest chapter in the Bible was meant to be memorized! While we live in an era of printed Bibles, and you might not need to memorize psalm 119, it should be meditated on and applied.
