Psalms 120-134 are collectively known as the Songs of Ascent. These psalms formed a special part of the song book of ancient Israel. They were sung (hence songs) as pilgrims made the trek from the lowlands to Jerusalem (hence ascent) to worship at the temple on the feast days. They sang these psalms on the journey to prepare their hearts for worship.
These Psalms were inspired to instruct us in preparing our hearts for worship. And by examining them in depth you will be equipped to become a better worshipper of Jesus Christ.
